Car broken into, catalytic converter stolen: Downers Grove Blotter

DOWNERS GROVE, IL – A Louis Vuitton handbag was stolen in a car break-in, a catalytic converter was removed from another vehicle and other crimes were reported in the latest Downers Grove crime log .

Car broken into in the 1600 block of 75th Street

Police say someone smashed the rear passenger window of an Acura MDX and stole a Louis Vuitton handbag worth $2,570. The incident happened between 8:15 p.m. and 9:20 p.m.

Credit cards stolen from wallet during overstay

A man told police he believed someone had stolen a Nordstrom and Macy’s credit card from his wallet while he was at the Extended Stay Hotel, 3050 Finley Rd. He said the theft took place between 18 and 20 September.

Catalytic converter stolen from car at Chama Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse

A catalytic converter was stolen from a car that was parked in the Chama Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse parking lot. The victim told police he saw a gray or brown Chevrolet or Nissan sedan park next to his car, then saw a passenger get out and walk towards his car. The theft occurred between 10 p.m. and 10:57 p.m. on September 21.
