Cultured and Destiny Joseph celebrate Chanel’s Miami collaboration with Es Devlin

To celebrate 100 years of the iconic Chanel N ° 5, the luxury fashion house commissioned artist and set designer Es Devlin to create a multisensory installation at Miami’s Jungle Plaza.

The legendary and classic scent was inspired by the lush nature of the south of France, where Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel was born and raised. To mimic the landscape, Es Devlin has created a forest of over 1,000 shrubs and trees to surround an artificial minimalist labyrinth, which strongly stimulates the scent. The finished product is a large-scale, immersive experience, titled Five echoes, which pays homage to the past, present and future of the famous perfume.

Young influencer and model Destiny Joseph is teaming up with Cultured to guide readers through the magic of the installation.

Chanel is preparing Destiny for its first Art Basel with an unparalleled offering of skincare, fragrance and wardrobe. Having a largely minimalist makeup routine, Destiny focuses on hydration above all else, drawing on Chanel beauty products including: Chanel Hydra Beauty Camellia Water Cream, Hydra Beauty Nourishing Lip Treatment and Hand Cream. Destiny is taking more risks in her style, donning an intricately patterned black and white skirt and top, complemented by a matching crossbody bag, white high-heeled ankle boots, silver cuffs and a silver choker. The finishing touch is a Chanel No.5 spritz and the look is complete.

Camera ready, Destiny stops by the sunny Cultured Miami office in Allapattah on the way to the installation to chat with Cultured founder Sarah Harrelson, while browsing the latest winter issue of the children’s magazine, including the release is scheduled for Miami Art Week. Sarah expresses her admiration for Chanel’s emphasis on the sustainability of the installation: Chanel and Es Devlin have committed to replanting the 1,000 plants used in the Miami exhibit.

The final stop is the installation itself. Designed as a sort of labyrinth, the all-white installation is complemented by an array of lush shrubs surrounded by dreamy fog. At the center of the installation is a special sensory experience of sound and light, favoring dreamlike stimulation. The open-air installation combines the sensations of nature with the beauty of Chanel N ° 5, paying a perfect tribute to a fragrance inspired by Mother Earth. The facility will be open until December 21. Watch the full video below.
