BEING decked out in designer duds can be expensive, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll look expensive.
Fashion aficionado and style expert Frederique Bros highlighted the seven luxury items she says make you look cheap.
Frédérique posted a YouTube video share their opinions on popular designer items you should avoid.
She captioned the video, “Do you love fashion? Think again! In this video, let’s see why some LUXURY items from fashion designers make you look CHEAP!”
Its purpose is to keep you from looking “new rich”.
Frédérique explains that when she wears this belt, the rest of her outfit is very sober.
“First of all, it doesn’t look good when it’s too matchy-matchy, and even though these items cost a lot of money, it’s too expensive. It’s definitely going to make you look cheap. ..and that you tried so hard,” she says.
In other words, only wear one fashion item at a time.
According to Frédérique, the Gucci belt is the next to disappear.
Not only are there too many people wearing this, but there are also too many fakes.
“When you see fashion items like that, and you see them everywhere, you want them, and when you want them, it’s already gone,” she says.
Instead, she recommends investing in a good quality leather belt, and in her opinion, it would be from Hermès rather than Gucci.
Despite his penchant for Cartier Love Braceletshe has some problems with the concept.
A man can buy you the $10,000 bracelet because he loves you so much — but it has to be screwed onto your wrist, which doesn’t scream feminism at Frédérique.
She characterizes the gift as a symbol of possession as if your significant other is saying, “You belong to me.”
But she also doesn’t like how influencers tend to pile several on one wrist because it looks too “clinky.”
Although she thinks the classic Balmain blazer is cut beautifully, she thinks it’s a little too “traditional” because it’s not straight.
“When you open a jacket like that, it doesn’t look good when it’s open. It looks like something flying in the wind, and again, there are so many copies,” Frédérique says.
Frédérique thinks Emilio Pucci’s blouses are extremely colorful and overpriced, making you look like a clown.
In addition, she saw copies at Zara.
If Frédérique loves Louis Vuitton monogrammed bags, she doesn’t like clothes that bear the logo.
“I think when you wear a lot of logos on you, it looks really cheap,” she proclaims.
Costume jewelery is another no-no for Frédérique.
“Jewelry is beautiful when it’s tasteful and minimalist,” she says.
If you want to wear costume jewelry, you should keep the rest of your outfit and your accessories simple.
Don’t wear fancy designer jewelry, just one at a time.
Her final piece of advice is to invest in a designer handbag because: “It’s something you wear all the time, it’s practical, it enhances any type of outfit.”
