Prosecutors alleged that Hupp killed Faria four days after persuading her to give him a $ 150,000 life insurance policy and was charged with attempting to trick Russ.

Russ, who will be played by Glenn Fleshler on the series, was initially convicted of murdering his wife in 2013 and sentenced to life in prison.

His conviction was overturned in 2015 before he was found not guilty in a new trial where prosecutors argued Hupp was responsible.

The case was the subject of five episodes of NBC’s Dateline that aired from 2014 to 2019 and has become one of the most popular topics in the news magazine.

Hupp was sentenced to life without parole in 2019 for luring 33-year-old Louis Gumpenberger to her home, claiming to be a producer for Dateline before killing him in an elaborate plot to distract from herself in the Faria case.

Speculation also revolved around whether she was responsible for her own mother’s fatal fall in 2013.

Written by Jessika Borsiczky, The Thing About Pam also stars Katy Mixon, Judy Greer, Gideon Adlon, Sean Bridgers, Suanne Spoke and Mac Brandt.

The release date of the series has not yet been communicated by NBC.
