The Encore app went live in February and has since hosted dozens of performances.
“My number one priority has always been to inspire others and provide them with the space to tell their own stories in authentic and meaningful ways,” Kid Cudi said in a press release at the app’s launch. “We created Encore as a space for artists to share their art, build community, while still being able to pay their rent.”
Her live performance on Tuesday, March 8 garnered over 14 million applause, which grossed over $140,000, paving the way for what the next era of music performance and monetization could look like for artists according to a statement emailed from Encore.
