Zabar’s collaborations with Coach. Items include a $550 tote bag.

New Yorkers know you can get a great bagel at Zabar. And good smoked fish, olives and cheeses. What you might not know is that as part of Coach’s new spring collection, you can pick up clothes from Zabar and rep the neighborhood in style.

The collection includes three items showcasing the 88-year-old Upper West Side establishment: a cozy sweater ($495), a cool t-shirt ($150) and a large tote bag ($550 ).

“Paying homage to the effortless freshness of our hometown,” these pieces feature the Zabar logo and of course, one of their famous cream cheese bagels. Based on Bonnie Cashin’s original 1969 design, New York designer and creative director Stuart Vevers created Zabar’s “Cashin Carry” leather tote, a perfect combination of Zabar’s classic reusable tote and the house’s chic design luxury couture. A big part of Vevers’ creative vision is a “…look that’s rooted in authentic New York attitude.” He continues to express this through pieces like the Zabar sweater and Zabar t-shirt, which are part of a collection that Coach calls “a love letter to New York.”

These Upper West Side-inspired items are available online at Coach’s website and in Coach stores. But if they’re over your spring budget, you can always visit the family store (2245 Broadway @ 80th Street) and pick up a reusable tote filled with delicious treats.

This isn’t Zabar’s first foray into the fashion world; in March 2021, the longtime grocer teamed up with Vans to create shoes and t-shirts featuring his logo alongside some of his most popular items (bagels, coffee, rugelach and a black and white cookie ).
